United Benefit Advisors (UBA) Members Tackle the Forces Shaping Future Healthcare Delivery, Welcome 12 New Member Firms

INDIANAPOLIS and CHICAGO, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- United Benefit Advisors (UBA), (www.UBAbenefits.com ), an alliance of the nation's premier independent benefit advisory firms, recently concluded its member meeting in Chicago. The keynote presentation on the forces shaping future healthcare delivery fueled several focused sessions led by UBA's member experts on developing a range of effective solutions for employers and consumers.

"Employers are intently seeking more effective strategies to address the unsustainable increases in health care costs. The typical response of simply decreasing benefits and increasing employer and employee contributions is a failed approach," said David LoCascio, UBA's Co-Founder. "Benefits advisors must identify and understand the root-level forces driving the changes at the insurer, provider, and consumer level in order to help employers formulate real solutions to this business-critical problem."

UBA continued its efforts to help independent advisors address employer/employee health benefits issues by demonstrating several new tools & services including: an Employee Benefits Video series designed to help employers educate employees about their healthcare benefits options; the "Employee Resource Center(SM)," a health & financial wellness website; and the addition of federal compliance modules and booklet handout series for HRinsider(SM), UBA's web-based client Human Resource portal. In addition, UBA introduced two more best-in-class analysis tools, Stop Loss Analyzer and Medical Reserve Calculator, through its Strategic Partnership with national actuarial firm Reden & Anders.

"Being a UBA member has enabled us to provide a range of value added services for our clients that we would otherwise not be able to deliver, said Ron Fuhrman, Vice President and CFO, TrueNorth Companies. "UBA has given us the differentiators that set us apart from the competition."

Joining approximately 350 participants at its Chicago meeting were representatives from: The Hartford, Express Scripts, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, ARAG, Genworth Financial, Comm5 Systems, Reden & Anders, Principal Financial, Sun Life Financial Services, Systemed Rx, Symetra Financial, Jefferson Pilot, Colonial Supplemental, CoreSource, Professional Benefit Administrators, D2 Hawkeye, Benesight, Health Advocate, and Benefits Technology Group.

In less than three years of operation, UBA has grown to become one of the nation's five largest employee benefits advisory organizations with over 1,600 experienced benefits professionals located in 150 offices across North America. UBA Members provide employee benefits advisory services to over 30,000 private corporations and public employers, helping manage nearly $14 billion annually in Employee Benefit expenditures on behalf of 2.7 million employees and their families.
